Solitude XC #5 Maps

Trailforks Map

Beginner Course:

(1 lap) The course will start out going up Honeycomb Canyon and Queen Bess and down Serenity and Lower Queen Bess Switchbacks. Know your course. When Queen Bess meets Raptor Road, beginners will be making a left turn and then another left onto Serenity while all other racers will be going right onto Raptor Road as they come off of Queen Bess. Do not take the long course route if you are racing in the beginner category!

PARENTS OF YOUNGER/NEWER RACERS - please inform your racers of which category they are racing in, and which course they will be riding. Trail marshals or other racers may be able to guide a lost racer, but only if they know which category and course they are supposed to be riding.

Preride the course if you have time! It is your responsibility to know which course you are riding and where you are going!

Have fun out there and watch for other trail users.

Sport/SS/Expert/Masters/Pro Course:

(1 Lap) This is a shorter race, but it has plenty of climbing!

Know your course and know where the beginner course splits off from the main course. If you miss your turn and ride the beginner course, you will not be able to finish the main course.

FREE KIDS RACE!

The Bike Utah Youth BEST team will be hosting our Free Kids Race (for those riders ages 10-under) this week. That race will begin at 6:30 pm. This is for our youngest riders who are not in the main event. Register on site, fill out a waiver, and make sure you have closed-toe shoes and a (mandatory!) HELMET in order to participate. There will be supplies to decorate your own awesome race plate before the race! The Youth BEST team will be on hand all evening to demonstrate the cycling safety curriculum they administer to students across the state.

DONATE TO HEAL UTAH’S UPCOMING GEAR SWAP

Bike Utah is participating in a gear swap event during Latino Conservation Week (July 16-24), a nationwide effort to promote and support Latino/Hispanic community members to participate in outdoor recreation and activities, as well as learning more about our lands and resources. We are asking you to donate new and/or used, but still functional outdoor gear and apparel so that it gets a second life with someone else in the community!

What Items:

We'd love for you to first consider donating cycling-related gear, but other outdoor recreational gear is welcomed too! Examples for cycling-related gear are bikes, tubes, pumps, lights, computers, locks, water bottles, bottle cages, bike bags/packs, basic tools, shoes, bike racks, protective pad/gear, jerseys, and gloves. At this time we are not accepting donations of helmets or bike components (e.g. handlebars, pedals).

Items should at least have a few seasons left of use. If it needs to be fixed or is showing excessive wear and tear (e.g. rips or fraying in apparel), please consider donating it elsewhere as we will not have the means to repair or redirect it to another collection.
