XC #4 - June 7 - Round Valley
We are always in short supply of volunteers for our events! If you are racing and have a parent, friend, child, neighbor, acquaintance, or riding buddy who would like to help us out (we need help at all positions - bike or no bike!), please share THIS LINK and have them sign up ASAP! We will always welcome last-minute help if anyone shows up to the race. Check in at the volunteer table before the race starts!
Registration, number plate pick-up, and other info will be at the BikeUtah tent starting at 4:00 pm and will close for ALL racers at 5:15 pm (no exceptions)!
Parking, number pick-up, registration etc. will all be located at the Quinn’s Junction Trailhead. Please park in the DIRT PARKING LOT located across Gillmore Way from the lacrosse fields. This lot isn’t huge, so please carpool if you can! Overflow parking may park in the paved lots only after the dirt lot is full. DO NOT PARK at the National Ability Center, at the Ice Arena, or along the roads.
All racers at the Round Valley XC #4 will be racing with a MASS START format this year! Make sure you know your start time and are ready to line up at the start before your time to race!
Make sure you are lined up in your assigned category BEFORE your category start time! All racers in their respective categories will start at the same time!
You MUST start with your assigned category.
Starting with the wrong category or otherwise missing your start time will result in a DQ for the race.
Line up within your category will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
PLEASE READ OUR START TIMES PAGE for information on when you need to line up and be prepared for your wave!
Take note that at XC #4 the start line is on Fast Pitch and the finish line is on Hat Trick. This is the opposite of where they were at the last Round Valley Race XC #2!
FREE KIDS RACE will start at 6:30 pm! This race is for our youngest riders (10 years old or younger) who are not participating in the main XC event. We’ll have supplies on hand to decorate your own race plate before the race begins!
Register at the Bike Utah tent - it is mandatory that parents fill out a registration form and sign a waiver for kids to race.
It is mandatory that all participants wear a helmet and closed-toe shoes.
Parents (on foot only) may accompany their child through the race if needed.
The kids’ race is not timed, but the overall time kids spend on the course should not exceed 15 minutes.
This course will consist of one lap around Hat Trick - Fast Pitch.
If you haven’t raced with us before, read our Racing 101 page for what you can expect
ROUND VALLEY XC #4 MAPS
(1 lap) There will be YELLOW ARROWS at the beginner split indicating the beginner course and a Trail Marshal to make sure you take the correct trail. Follow the flags, the signs, and any instructions from our trail marshals. Study the map beforehand and KNOW YOUR COURSE! The start line and the finish line are DIFFERENT on this race than they were at the last Round Valley race.
PARENTS OF YOUNGER/NEWER RACERS - please inform your racers of which category they are racing in, and which course they will be riding. Trail marshals or other racers may be able to guide a lost racer, but only if they know which category and course they are supposed to be riding.
Preride the course if you have time! It is your responsibility to know which course you are riding and where you are going!
Take note that at XC #4 the start line is on Fast Pitch and the finish line is on Hat Trick. This is the opposite of where they were at the last Round Valley Race XC #2!
Have fun out there and watch for other trail users.
PRO/EXPERT/MASTERS/SS/SPORT COURSE:
(1 lap) Mass Starts are back! Know where the beginners split off from the main course. There will only be Trail Marshals at key intersections. Pass each other safely and courteously.
