Heber 1 Pro Men Line-up Start

Epic night mashing pedals!

Thank you, volunteers, racers, parents, sponsors, and fans. The first race of the season went off without a hitch and there was nothing but dirty smiles, burning lungs and tired legs crossing the finish line.

We’ll be heading back to Heber next Tuesday, May 9th racing a different course (details to come shortly). Hint – it’ll be a bit shorter for Pro+Expert divs and a bit longer for Sport+Master divs.

We Made It With No Rain!

Race 2 Wrapped Up Image

I still can’t believe with the 60-70% of forecasted precip, that it didn’t hit Corner Canyon until about 9pm. I guess old Ma’Nature felt she owed us one after last year’s “Tuesday is Rain Day” experience.

I hope you all understand our decision to run with the previous week’s course & not roll the super-loop up Canyon Hollow and down Rush. Trust me, it was more of a bummer for Jeff and I, as we already set the course, than it probably was for you guys. That said, the course we ran was quite delightful, all tacky sand and such and the weather couldn’t have been any more pleasant to breath in.

Ken Jordan Pics

Ken Jordan took some pics of you’all and you’re welcome to view and download them – Ken’s Google Drive Folder. Thank Ken and thanks Salt Cycles for taking such good care of us at Corner Canyon and bringing Ken out to the races.

I sure did see a lot of those new Smith Forefront helmets – You’re fav shop has definitely got’em

Note – This weekend’s trail day has been postponed do to forecasted snow – We are rescheduling

This Saturday is the Mark Miller Subaru “Do Good Feel Good” awards – great event for great causes, and one lucky winner will be walking away with a 2015 Subaru Impreza!  find out more

Now that you’ve got a little time in your saddle, it’d be a good time to go get fit – there are lots of options out there, but there is one guy that races our series and does the fitting as it should be done, considering your riding type first – John with BikeFitr – 3 lucky winners this year will be awarded a free fit, but why wait till then?

What do all think about this season so far?

All of last weeks’ quirks with the results display have been fixed – use the drop down to sort between Season Standings and individual races.

Race 2 – Last Corner Canyon

Bring Your Big Wheels

The Second MidWeekMTB race is Tuesday, May 6

We’ve been watching the forecasts closely – we’ve got a 70% + of a stellar night. If we do have to cancel tomorrow, and you pre-registered, we will honor that registration & payment for the following make-up date, scheduled the following Tuesday, May 13.

We will be sure to alert with any updates via Facebook (facebook/MidWeekMTB) & Twitter (@MidWeekMTB1) through-out tomorrow (so stay tuned)

Register Online for Race #2 – Corner Canyon

Remember, ALL racers must sign-in and if you turned in a 2014 Liablity Waiver, you’re set for the season, if you haven’t yet, you can download one here.
Ideally a 15 minute sprinkle falls around 4pm adding a bit of tackiness and cooling off the temps.

Mark Miller Subaru will be hosting a their juicy $5 BBQ meal – quenching those post-work/race hungers.

We will be starting down below the Equestrian coral again. Please be courteous to the horses and their riders/trainers by slowly approaching (if need be) and don’t hesitate to talk to them. Horses are easily frightened by the sound of Chris King hubs…  they historically prefer the DT smoothness.

Course is currently marked – enjoy!

MidWeekMTB Prodigy

MidWeekMTB Prodigy Well it seems that we know have a strong following of aspiring riders. From casual riders who just hopped in to poach the course’s flagging to little’ns who surrouned the finish greeting their parents with drooling smiles, be on the lookout for new up’N’comers.

Our ears picked up “GREAT COURSE!”  – exactly what we thought, happy all had fun. Even those handfuls who had technical difficulties seem to be displaying grins.

A big thank you to our sponsors who continue to offer up goods & services making our series amazing from start 2 finish. A special thanks to Mrs. Draper Rodeo Queen & Katie with the 4H club for the “biking w/ horses” introduction/etiquette address.

PUBLIC TRAILS – as a reminder, we are granted the privilege to use these public trails, if you come across the public (non-racers) on course, show some respect to your fellow O2 breather. We understand that competitive drive, use a brake lever & your agile ability to mindfully pass with an “excuse me, thank you” gesture. We do the best that we can to alert the public of our events & we are on publicly funded trails, so by no means will there be a 100% guarantee that only racers will be on course. If you like our races as much as we do, help us continue to ride this amazing MNT range by sacrificing a few pedal strokes in the name of common courtesy.
